Welcome to Synthex.nl
This is the official source for all information regarding the work of Synthex. Listen to the music, see the videos or check the equipment.
The person behind Synthex, is Jeffrey. A young musician, who at an early age developped a love for the music of Jean-Michel Jarre and the black and white keys. At the age of 12, he started to work on his first own compositions.
In 2012 his debut album Pythagoras was released and in April 2013 Synthex will make his live debut at the E-Day festival.
Work is under way for the next album, which will be released late 2013.

You may have already seen them floating around facebook or on the Synthex YouTube channel, but the videos from the live performance at the E-Day festival are now also availble for viewing here, on the official Synbthex website. We started with the first set. Four songs are available: Analogue Solutions, Hitchhiker in Space, Modulator and Mirrorland part 2. Two more will be added soon. At the E-Day festival, Synthex performed a few tracks from teh upcoming new album, Mirrorland, so be sure to check out the songs, so you can get an impression of the new album.
It was fantastic to have none other than Gert Emmens joining in on many tracks, creating a great sound together. Gert, thank you so much, it was great!
Synthex - To Berlin (Live at E-Day 2013)
Here it is: the first video of the live debut of Synthex. During his performance Gert Emmens played on several songs and this song really shows how well they played together, as this is an improvisation. Enjoy & share!
Looking back at E-Day
Last Saturday was E-Day, where I performed in the upper room. This was my very first live performance. The day started quite early. Around 10 AM we started setting the gear up and soundchecking. I was supported by none other than Gert Emmens, who did a fantastic job. We played a track from my debut album, Pythagoras, some covers, improvisations and a few tracks from my new upcoming album.
At 13:15 the first set started. Over 80 people were there, so you can imagine it was very crowded. Also the other two sets were attended by a lot of people. I was a little bit nervous, but apart from that we had a great time. It was also great that I could use Ron’s modular system and Gert’s Multimoog. I also enjoyed the acts in the main hall very much, and met a lot of new friends.
At the end of the day we looked back to an amazing day filled with lots of great music and I can’t wait till E-Live in October.
All my sets were filmed and over the next days/weeks, we will bring all the songs I performed to you.
E-Day 2013
April 6, 2013 the E-Day festival will be held at De Enck in Oirschot, Netherlands. This will be a special day for Synthex, as this will mark his debut on stage. For the very first time, Synthex will perform his music live. He will be the youngest EM musician ever to play an E-Day or E-Live festival!
His performance, which also will be the very first of the day, will be in the upper room. Synthex will play 3 sets during the festival. As special guest, Gert Emmens will join Synthex on a few songs. In the set, some covers will be played, material from his debut album, Pythagoras and some improvisations. But also...songs from his upcoming new album!
The first set will be starting around 13:00, the second set around 15:20 and the last set around 17:10.
The debut album Pythagoras will be available at the Synthex stand in the bar area.
We hope you will all be there, to enjoy the great music, that will be performed on the day, and of course, to be a part of the live debut of Synthex.

Synthex nominated for a Schallwelle Award
For the fifth time, the german electronic scene orchestrates the Schallwelle awards, where the best national and international albums and artists will be honored for their particular achievements in 2012. And this year we are very proud to let you know that Synthex is nominated for such an award! Twice even! Once for best artist 2012 and once for best album, Pythagoras.
Of course we need your support to change the nomination into a real prize...so please visit http://voting.schallwelle-preis.de/index.php and vote for Synthex and Pythagoras. And hopefully you will see Synthex to be the youngest musician to win such an award. The event takes place on March 16th 2013 at a location: the Planetarium of Bochum.
So please support Synthex and cast your votes. We here at the Dream Studio will keep you up to date on the voting, through the news page and the official Synthex facebook page.
A new album
For a while now, Synthex is working on a follow up of Pythagoras, the debut album. So far it's going well and several tracks are really shaping up. Currently the aim is for a spring 2013 release. And...at the Dream Studio has just arrived a recording of a guest musician! We won't reveal too much yet, but keep an eye on synthex.nl and/or the facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/synthexnl, where the updates will be shared. But it is sounding very promising and I'm sure you will love this album!
First review
Yes, the first review of Pythagoras is in! And a quite nice one. The album was reviewed by Bert Strolenberg for Sonic Immersion.
A few words from the review:
"It’s no surprise the latter has been a big influence in recent years, when Jeffrey was curled up in the process of composing and shaping his own compositions that have now led to his 66-minute debut "Pythagoras". Its output was recorded between January 2011 and January 2012 in Jeffrey’s own Dream Studio and has been mastered by Ron Boots."
"The final track, a kind-of church-symphony in a nutshell, opens with organ sounds and then shifts to warm synth sounds, bringing some of the early music of Eric van der Heijden and again Jarre to mind. All in all, "Pythagoras" makes a nice first effort, worth to be heard."

Pythagoras release party

October 27, 2012 Pythagoras was officially released. And the party was held at the E-Live festival, where Syhthex was present with his own stand. It was a great day and all available CD's were sold, almost all of them signed.
And a few fellow musicians als got a copy, like Michel van Osenbruggen, Glenn Main and none other than Dominique Perrier (Jean-Michel Jarre, Space Art)!
Here are a few shots of the day:
